By making, packing, and delivering peanut butter and jelly sandwich lunches, we hope to give students a glimpse of the hardships faced by many in our valley and empower those students to make a difference.

    Executive Summary

Dr. Shin has much experience as an eye doctor, but what hurts every business is the marketing or lack thereof in the competitive world that we live today. In this marketing research proposal, our team will assist Dr. Shin's and her practice to get the most out of her current business efforts. Dr. Shin's business resides in Las Vegas, NV, and her company sells eyeglasses, cataract surgery, Botox cosmetics surgery, as well as eye alignment surgery. In the following report, our proposal will offer meaningful insights into the projected sales and profits, unit sales, profitability, and other keys to business success.

Keywords: marketing plan, eye doctor, business marketing, situation analysis

    Company Overview

Dr. Grace S. Shin is a medical doctor who works at Ideal EyeCare Ophthalmology. Currently, her practice is utilizing ⅔ of her building’s potential which we feel is one of a few issues that needs devolvement. Dr. Shin's location is on Fort Apache Rd, Las Vegas. She mentioned that her business has poor reviews on the popular social media app named “Yelp.” Immediately, our concern diverted to finding the reason for poor reviews from her customers. As marketers, we are aware that negative customer satisfaction reviews may lead to some future problems if left unaddressed. Our aim is to come up with a situation analysis for Dr. Shin, and then prepare a marketing strategy, as well as a performance plan to ultimately bring her happier and satisfied customers, as well as a higher profitability.

This is the introduction letter to Mr. Sutton explaining our findings.

    RE: Recommendation Report

    Dear Mrs. Sutton:

Here is the report which you requested about how to use social media in your business. It

answers your questions about whether or not social media would be a good fit for your

company, how social media can be utilized in your business, and what techniques are most

commonly used to bring more sales to your company.

After many hours of research, our team came up several recommendations. The first

recommendation is that your company hires a social media manager to manage your

company’s social media accounts. In the report, our team has mentioned the costs of hiring

such a manager. We suggest that your social media manager use HootSuite.com for all your

    social media managerial needs.

Our research methods consist mostly of online research about social media for businesses. We

also conducted primary research such as signing up with Facebook for business, Hootsuite.com,

and spent money on advertising to ensure our accuracy with social media.

Thank you for the opportunity you have given us to work on this report project. If you require

further research, please don’t hesitate to contact our team; and we’d be glad to assist you.

Almost two years ago, I was going through some transition with my professional staff, and I needed to bring on some extra students to supplement. It was at that time that I decided to bring on Carl and make him an Assistant AV Technician within the Student Union and Event Services department. Carl didn’t have a ton of AV knowledge, but he was very motivated and ready to take on whatever I assigned him from day one. While a handful of students have impressed me early in their careers, Carl is a student who continues to impress me every day.

In 2015, we had a large amount of student turnover due to graduation. It was at that time that I asked Carl to switch from the AV team to the setup team with the intent that he could become a manager. It didn’t take Carl very long to learn that side of the operation. He was promoted to a manager not long after. Since being promoted, Carl has continued to be a top employee of mine. So much so, that I recently made Carl a Stan Fulton Specialist within the same department. He is the manager for the students at Stan Fulton. This operation is clear across campus and has little to no professional supervision. I had no doubt that Carl would succeed based on his ability to make good decisions and be self-motivated. His attitude, willingness to learn, outstanding work ethic, and outgoing personality make Carl an outstanding employee that any supervisor would love to have. Aside from work, Carl is also a good student. His employment here is an indication of his dedication to academics, as there are minimum GPA requirements to retain employment.

I regret I didn't get his last name, however.

We had the Coffee and Converstation with the Provost meeting on Thursday, set up in 207 for 50 people, starting at 9A. By 8:50A it was clear that the room was not going to be big enough :-( I called back to the office and asked my assistant, Joanna, to get me a SU contact. Carl came to the rescue and allowed us to move directly across the hall to a larger room. All of the attendees grabbed their chairs and took them across the hall; Carl arranged for more chairs to be brought in, and even got a colleague to get the microphone set-up out of 207 to the larger room.

It was a near panic situation w/this being Provost Chase's first campus get-together and we wanted everything to go right. W/o Carl having gone above and beyond it would have been a disaster trying to accommodate the 80+ turnout.

I am very grateful for his help, and that of the young man who assisted Carl with the microphone switchover.

Jon, thank you for having such competent, friendly and accommodating people on your staff.

Dear To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Carl Wolfgang Schultz. I highly recommend Carl Schultz to your organization for any position.

I have known Carl Schultz for the past semester as he has taken my Theatre Appreciation class. As his professor, I have had an opportunity to observe his participation and interaction in class and to evaluate his knowledge of the subject matter. He is an outstanding student in all respects. He is mindful of his peers, concerned for the well-being of his grades, and seeks guidance in comprehending areas of the work. Carl Schultz has proven that through hard work, determination, and team work, he can accomplish tasks in a courteous and timely manner.

In one of his class presentations on acting techniques, Carl referenced a series of plays that he had seen over the semester, and the various ways in which the actors portrayed their characters. He presented a series of visual aids and even performed in front of his peers. What Carl brought to his presentation was not just skill, but a level of maturity and leadership that set a tone for other members of the class.

Carl Schultz is well equipped to grow from challenges that he is presented with. His patience, attention to detail, and enquiring mind, prepare him beautifully for your [company/organization/school/program]. I strongly endorse making Carl Schultz a member of your team at [company/school/program].

    Subject: Carl W. Schultz

It is with the utmost enthusiasm and confidence that I recommend Carl Schultz for a position in your organization.

Carl is a Marine Corps veteran who served in Afghanistan and spent his career defending the nation. In addition to the Marine Corps core values of honor, courage, and commitment, Carl can bring to your organization dependability and a refusal to fail which is common amongst Marines.

I had the pleasure of working with Carl from July 2012 to February 2013, during this time he performed multiple functions here as a non-commissioned officer in charge of Marines. He excelled as a night shift supervisor, managing a crew of Marines responsible for the supply support and customer service to the entire 29th Marine Aircraft Group, consisting of over 100 helicopters.

When our priorities shifted, his skills were called upon to supervise support of aircraft deployed both nationally and internationall. He used his technical expertise and leadership to train junior Marines and accomplish the mission.

One of Carl's best attributes is how much he cares about the welfare of subordinates and his dedication to the success of his organization. I am sure Carl will bring the same kind of energy and can do attitude to your company that he did to our unit. If I can be of any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact me.

I personally had the distinct pleasure to work with Carl twice in a deployed setting. The first time was in the Helmand Province aboard Kandahar Airfield in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) from Jan- Aug 2011. I placed Carl and a few other Marines to support all fixed wing combat operations at the Kandahar Airfield. Carl's leadership, drive and technical experience enabled the detachment of Marines to accomplish their mission on a daily basis, while making the eight month deployment an overall success. The most recent deployment too place during March - May 2012. We deployed to Yuma, Arizona in support of Weapons Tactic and Instruction (WTI), which is considered the premier aviation schoolhouse. Carl was tasked with supporting all requirements for seventy eight different types of aircraft. Again, his leadership, performance and technical expertise was useful in ensuring the deployment was a success.

Carl is a self motivated individual that is always willing to assist other with accomplishing assigned tasks. Carl has proven he is a team player that leads by example and always strives for knowledge and self improvement. He would be an asset to any employer and I recommend him for any endeavor he chooses to pursue.
